Welcome to the Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium.
The Science Centre and Planetarium is located on the Innovation Campus University of Wollongong.
The Science Centre's opening hours are 10 AM to 4 PM every day including most public holidays. Anyone is most welcome to visit the Science Centre during this time. We also accept group bookings and we have a party room available for hire. For more information, see the General Admission or Bookings pages.
Major Exhibits
Do you like to get "hands on"? Our two-storey Exhibit Hall has over 100 interactive exhibits relating to various themes like "Electricity" or "The Changing Earth".
Do you have an interest in astronomy? Visit the BlueScope Steel Star Theatre - our Planetarium - for stunning recreations of the night sky - from around the world, from different eras - even from a different planet! The Planetarium also offers exciting laser shows.
If you want to see the real sky up close & personal our Observatory has a powerful telescope and plenty of amazing images from distant galaxies far, far away...
Entertaining Science Shows explore the more interactive fields of science, whether it be blowing gigantic bubbles, freezing objects or just blowing up stuff.
School Outreach
Our school outreach program is called Star Trails. Star Trails is sponsored by the IMB Community Foundation and brings science shows to your school. A high quality planetarium is also available which uses the latest full dome projection equipment to create visually spectacular and highly informative presentations.
